Hola, Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your interest in my music! I wanted to update you on what I've been doing lately.

I have very good news for you.

It's official, I'm recording an album (EP) this summer for immediate release!

After beating the pavement for a traditional record deal for the last 3 years, I decided with much help from my friend and Musical Director, Mark Thompson that I just have to do my own independent record. I am embarking upon this labor of love on my own Independent Label, Baja Basement Records. I'm starting the preproduction in June and recording in Nashville in July of 2003. I plan to make the CD available for purchase on my site either via a link to Amazon or PayPal. We hope to have the CD available by August 15, 2003. Just in time for the "Twin Peaks Festival" where I'll be performing the weekend of 08/15-17.

I'm very excited about this project. The CD will have my favorite song, "Llorando" and I’ve been cooking up a lot of ideas and writing more songs. I’ve discovered parts of me that I didn't know existed. All I can say is that many secrets will be revealed. This record will be the true Rebekah Del Rio, stripped of what record company execs call "radio friendly" songs; just the raw essence that is me. The melodies will be haunting, the lyrics entrancing and the music an eclectic rapture of the genre "World". Isn't that what we like anyway? If you decide to embark upon this journey of discovery with me, then I hope that my music takes you to places beyond yourself. I promise you this will be the best of what I have in me!

Indeed, it's been way too long and I'm so glad that you have shown interest in my music! I am just a girl who wants to sing! Thank you for letting me do this.

I will try to come up with enough funds to do a full CD. I am planning on seeking a distribution deal to help get my music out to all of you. I also plan a trip to Europe to promote the record.
