Ms. Del Rio
Most known from her breathtaking performance in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, singer/songwriter Rebekah Del Rio's unique style is represented by her signature song: the wrenchingly beautiful ballad “Llorando”, a Spanish-language version of Roy Orbison’s “Crying.”
On the strength of that song, Rebekah moved to Nashville, where she was signed to Irving Azoff’s label, Giant Records. She opened for Rod Stewart at the 25th Annual WEA convention and cut her first album, “Nobody’s Angel.” The single shot up to #2 in Holland without any promotion.
Just before Rebekah moved back to Los Angeles, David Lynch cast her as herself in his nightmarish hymn to Los Angeles. Her noteworthy performance has been universally praised as “a dazzling star turn,” by John Powers in L.A. Weekly as well as “uniquely twisted” and “utterly enthralling” by Gregory Weinkauf of The New York Times.
Rebekah later composed a song with David Lynch for her album Love Hurts ♥ Love Heals, a collaboration with Christina Aguilera’s award-winning producer and songwriter Heather Holley, along with New York based production team including Dina Fanai and virtuoso cellist Dave Eggar.
Love Hurts ♥ Love Heals is dedicated to Rebekah’s late son, Phillip Craig DeMars, who lost his four-year battle with cancer in 2009. Focusing on the duality of amor, the 11 cinematic tracks leave you feeling like you’ve witnessed an epic movie. Each song thrills and pulls at the heart strings – the ultimate movie soundtrack to the film of life.
Other on-screen performances by Rebekah include Mulholland Drive, Southland Tales, Sin City, Winter's Dream, and TV series Prison Break, King of the Hill and The Young & The Restless.
