Letters from fans

I get so many wonderful letters and your thoughts and encouragement mean so much to me. I couldn't possibly post them all here but I'd like to share just a few of them with you.

Thank you all for your letters

Love, Rebekah

Dear Rebekah,

I had the pleasure of hearing you sing "Crying" in the Mulholland Dr. Movie. You have a wonderful voice full of feeling. I am retired now, but I was a Record producer and publisher here in Nashville for many years. I'm just sorry I wasn't fortunate enough to meet you personally when you lived here in Nashville. My office was next to Mike Curbs bldg. at 49 Music Square East. I produced George Straits album, "Right or Wrong" and also produced many records on Merle Haggard including his Grammy winner "That's The Way Love Goes". I produced many of the other country acts too. Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Connie Smith and several others. It was always fun working in the studio with talented artists and musicians. I still have good ears for songs and artists and my ears really perked up when I heard your rendition of "Crying". I worked for Acuff Rose publishing for awhile and knew Roy Orbison from those days when he and Barbara would stop in the offices to see Wesley Rose or Bud Brown. I know James Stroud and if he produced you, I can't imagine why the record hasn't come out yet. Maybe politics in the upper circles. I always hated that part of the biz. Anyway, I just wanted to wish you the best in your career and tell you how much I appreciate your talent. I hope you continue to record in Spanish as well as English.

Sincerely, Ray Baker

Hola Rebekah,

I saw your performance at the rainforest benefit (at Carnegie Hall). Believe me, I was totally blown away. Wow! I've never seen anyone put so much emotion into a song. I downloaded a few of your songs and shared them with my ex-girlfriend, Dunia. (She's from Costa Rica.) Your music has brought us closer together. I'm hoping we can reconcile soon. If we do, I’ll give you full credit. Gracias, senorita!

Thanks! Bob, NJ

      Ms. Rebekah Del Rio,

Your performance in Mulholland Drive was utterly captivating, stunning, and hypnotic. There are no words which do justice to the beauty in which you performed except possibly that it was enough to make a grown man cry, and one that doesn’t understand much Spanish at that. Please come perform in Las Vegas if you get the opportunity.

Sincerely, Morgan Clements

Rebekah,

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your performance of "Llorando" in "Mulholland Drive". It was one of the most passionate performances I have ever heard. I was haunted by it for days!!! You were just incredible!. I hope to be able to purchase your music in the future. Will visit your website often.

Sincerely, John Perry

Dear Rebekah

I just had the privilege of viewing your performance of "Llorando" in Mulholland Drive, and I was absolutely astonished by the magnificent beauty of your voice. I would very much be interested in being able to purchase any albums or singles featuring your music. I will continue to check your website, and would greatly appreciate any information on a release date.

Thank you! Rebecca

  Ms. Del Rio,

I am sure you have been told may times that your voice is beautiful, but it truly is. I watched the movie Mulholland Drive recently and was completely blown away by your version of "Crying". You have a 2 gifts, your life, and your voice. Please let me know when I will be able to purchase your CD. God bless you and take care.

Sincerely, Teresa

Why are you hiding in Southern CA?? Most of the recognized top vocalists in the business have nothing on you. In fact many show less ability to work a "set" than RDR. I can't believe you haven't put together an album (at least I can't locate one if you have). Whatever is keeping the lid on your leap to the top of the profession is puzzling........ because the talent is there! Of course this presumes you want to go to the top. If not, then Southern CA is fortunate, and the rest of the world will just have to experience RDR and the gift you hold on those rare occasions when you venture out. I trust your agent and record label are pushing hard to take you where you would like to be. It seems as your exposure has broadened, you collect an ever increasing number of fans. And when it comes to talent, the public is never wrong! Best Wishes. And we all hope you want Southern CA to be just the beginning.

  Hi…this is from Newfoundland, Canada.

We are three persons who watched you for the first time in Mulholland Drive. We were so impressed with your voice that we actually searched you out on the Internet to find out more about you. It took awhile, because we didn’t know who you were….we had to track you through information about the movie (which made NO sense to us) but your song/voice was incredible….it was the highlight of the movie. I know you probably don’t know a lot about Newfoundland, but you have impressed a medical records tech, a retired TV editor and a research nurse….all who in Newfoundland terms,,,, “were stunned, bye!” by your voice. Hats off to you….good luck with any future endeavors….and we’re heading to the store tomorrow to search out any CD’s you might have. Thanks for such a beautiful rendition of Roy Orbisons’ “Crying”….!!!!

Dear Rebekah,

I just have to say how much you blew me away in Mulholland Dr. and that you are the reason I bought that CD. I would very much like to know when you're own singles or albums come out.

Blessings on your journey,
Connie Hanna Norfolk, VA

I haven't been so moved by a song since the live version of Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Art Garfunkel. Your version of Llorando is an emotional awakening, it brings all the senses to the surface. I had never heard your music before, wow, what an inspiring voice! Please inform me of the release of the song.

Here's a letter from a member of the audience at my Showcase at "The Gig" in Hollywood, Nov 2001:

Thank you for last night's show at The Gig. It was breathtaking, truly. Rebekah Del Rio, you are amazing! It's been a long time since I've been literally transfixed by a voice. All I want to know is, when are you performing again? And do you have any recordings in the works, for myself and so I can spread the word, which I will do happily and at every opportunity - my only regret about last night's show is that I can only rave incoherently to people about it, which is obviously far from the experience itself... Anyway, God bless and thanks again for a truly memorable experience.

Yours, RF

Brian runs a very good site dedicated to David Lynch called dugpa.com. He came to my showcase at the Gig.

The show was just awesome. If you thought seeing Rebekah on the big screen was something, just wait till you see her live. "Llorando" live was just incredible. My personal favorite was the song she did with John Neff called "No Stars". Completely breathtaking.

Please tell Ms Del Rio that it is with profound sorrow that I tell you that I am not wealthy, for were I, she would never want for anything ever again. Parenthetically, this only serves to further my conviction that rich people have no idea of what to do with their money. None at all. I've just finished watching "Mulholland Drive.” Well, who could have words to describe "Llorando", certainly not me. About all I can say is, "That's it! Thank god I didn't miss it."

A fan, Bruce

  Hi Rebekah -

I'm a voice junkie from waaaayyy back, and I'm officially adding you to the addiction list alongside the greats. Just rented "Mulholland Drive"—blew me away, naturally. Don't you worry--someday everyone will know your name... Take care of you first, sing only as long as it nourishes you, and hang in there. Gifts like yours make life better, Rebekah. We are listening....

Warmest regards - Shannon

Good Day!

Just want to let you know how powerful and moving your performance of "Llorando" has been. Obviously by the many letters posted on your site, I am not the only one who has searched the Internet to find info and music by you. To be able to capture the emotion of a song, perform it in another language, captivate an audience that is watching a movie, and send chills and tears through the movie screen is quite an accomplishment. I look forward to purchasing your albums. Your performance in Mullholland Drive me dejo cambiada. Gracias por compartir tu voz con nosotros. Have a sweet, smiling day!
